Inspiration in Art. Jean Paul Gaultier

Art has been always playing an important role in fashion designers‘ work. Fine arts, decorative arts and even the whole cultures can become a never-ending source of inspiration for a lot of fashion artists. Just one little painting can give a beginning for a new collection.

Jean Paul Gaultier’s F/W 2005-6 Couture collection is not an exception. In every look, every cloth we can see a reference to Russian culture. Who knows, maybe once the designer had seen a national wooden toy, the pattern of which impressed him so much, that he decided to turn it into a new collection. Anyway, now we can enjoy a great result of cooperation of fashion and art.
